Look for plenty of publicity this fall as company founder Chuck Williams celebrates his 100th birthday on October 2. Jean Armstrong, vice president of brand marketing, told us that because Williams is credited with introducing many professional-grade cooking brands to the home market, his namesake store gets to offer exclusives like a copper Kitchen Aid stand mixer and certain colors of Le Crueset cookware. The owner of Ponce City Market, Atlanta-based national real estate investment and management company, Jamestown, L.P., joined forces with both Williams-Sonoma and Jonathan Waxman on their respective spaces.

The first 50 shoppers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday spending $25 or more will receive a free “Open Kitchen” canvas bag with their purchase. Williams-Sonoma celebrates the grand opening with a weekend of events, demonstrations, and prizes. Throughout the weekend vendors from Le Creuset, Nespresso and Shun will host workshops, including free knife sharpening. Offering distinctive pieces to style the home including furniture, bedding, lighting, kitchen wares, and more. West Elm is now open at the corner of Glen Iris and Ponce de Leon Ave. On Friday, Chefs’ Collective member Sara Simmons stopped into the Ponce store for a fried chicken cooking demo.

The historic kitchen and home store's flagship southern location, featuring custom shelving of unfinished oak and blackened steel on large casters, one-of-a-kind cutlery and flatware bins, circular displays and an impressive, steel-wrapped range hood. Chuck’s Story: A Culinary Legacy
As the “Focal Point” section of our new fall Atlanta Magazine’s HOME (on newsstands now!) issue features copper products, we admired Williams-Sonoma’s expansive copper collection. And we wish we’d spotted the Hammered Copper Imperial Pint Mug soon enough to include it in our product roundup. Khloe Kardashian dropped in to the Calabasas store support mom Kris and her book signing — and stayed to help our president with the official ribbon-cutting. Atlantans are invited every Saturday for free technique classes at the modern, twelve-seat cooking island in the center of the store hosted by Williams-Sonoma culinary specialist Jon Lagardere. Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our latest store happenings. West Elm Ponce store design incorporates architectural elements that draw inspiration from the historical intersection of the BeltLine and Ponce de Leon Avenue – the crossroads of Atlanta’s most established neighborhoods. Subway tiles have been blended with ornate and crackle glazing, and affixed in a modern motif as a nod to the area’s history.
